Harold Hedrick Memorial Gifts

Memorial gifts are being accepted to honor the memory of Dr. Harold Hedrick. Gifts will be used to underwrite future R.C. Pollock Awards for the American Meat Science Association.

Donations may be made online by clicking the donate button below or by mail to the AMSA Educational Foundation, 1111 N. Dunlap Ave, Savoy IL 61874.

Dr. Hedrick was a former President of the American Meat Science Association. AMSA recognized his career achievements at the University of Missouri with the R.C. Pollock Award, the Distinguished Teaching Award and the Distinguished Research Award.

He was noted for his work in animal growth and development and their relationship to meat quality. His pioneering work on dark cutting beef brought him international recognition and culminated in the publication of The Etiology and Darking Beef.

Dr. Hedrick's greatest legacy will be the hundreds of meat science professionals worldwide who were taught and mentored either by him directly or by one of his students.
