Mentor Recognition Program

The American Meat Science Association (AMSA) mentor recognition program gives members a unique avenue to recognize the professional mentors or colleagues who have influenced their careers. The program allows such members to make a contribution designated for special activities in the name of the honored person.

Donald M. Kinsman, Ph.D.

A fundraising drive for establishing a mentorship in the name of Donald M. Kinsman, Ph.D. was started in June, 2007. Dr. Kinsman was a long-time AMSA member whose work in meat science research and commitment to international opportunities for students set him apart from his peers.

The funds raised from the mentorship recognition will be used to endow a grant fund for assisting students with international study projects. The mentorship is being coordinated by a Committee led by Kathy Kotula (klkotula@msn.com).

The fundraising goal for this mentorship is $15,000. If you would like to help recognize Dr. Kinsman by contributing to the mentorship, make a donation online or contact AMSA Executive Director Thomas Powell (tpowell@meatscience.org) for more information.
